- april 21 9-11:30am
- material before midterm (~30% of final): 5.5 6.1 7.1 7.2 7.3 7.4 7.8
- material after midterm (~70% of final): 8.5 9.1 9.3 9.5 11.1-11.8, 11.10
- probability (8.5): properties of pdf, find probability of event occurring, find mean or median
- differential equations (9.1 9.3 9.5): solve differential equation or initial value problem (separable and/or linear), modelling (Newtons Law of Cooling is the only one → WILL BE ON FINAL)
- sequences (11.1): determine if sequences converge or diverge using one of 5 strats covered in class
- infinite series (11.2-11.7): test given series for convergence or diverges by applying appropriate test
- divergence test, integral test, dc test, lc test, alt. series test, ratio test → make sure conditions are met prior to applying test
- reference sheet provided in exam (on brightspace)
- power series (11.8): find radius and interval of convergence → use ratio test, endpoints must be tested separately (details of test not needed), cannot test endpoints with ratio test
- maclaurin/taylor series (11.10): find taylor or maclaurin series for simple function and its radius of convergence
- heavy on chapter 11 (5 weeks spent on content)
- section 11.7 questions mentioned specifically
